United Colors grew out of my love for the U.S. flag and my continual fascination with the contrast between warm and cool colors. It also explores the incredible power lurking in the variety of values in so many fabrics. Oh, and there’s also the fact that the first quilt I stitched in the United Colors pattern used Clothworks’ new American Made Brand line of solids.
(This is an entirely American-made line of fabrics, even down to the cotton, which is U.S.-grown. That’s something that hasn’t been done for many, many years!) I hope United Colors reminds everyone that, even with our differences, opposites can attract and get along.....and even become a thing of beauty. Make your own version and fly your colors with pride!
